Ruben Dario, Divina psiquis (extracto)
Divine psyche, sweet invisible butterfly
you've risen from the deep abysses and the dark
into my nervous system, my body and my
sentient sculpture of mud to shape a sacred spark.
You gaze through my eyes at the sacred land and lights you crave
yet you are but a prisoner in me, it seems
my senses at war have reduced you to a slave
with almost no freedom in the garden of dreams.
Learned in ancient cultures of prurience
you hurl yourself at times against hard surfaces,
and beyond the limit of each vulgar conscience,
you explore the most obscure terrible places.
Ruben Dario, Divine psyche (extract)
